Cronometro Wins.

Cronometro Wins!

Bicycle Retailer and Industry News (BRAIN) announced today that Cronometro won the 11th Annual Industry Commute Cup Challenge. Competing in the Mid-Size Independent Bicycle Dealer (IBD) category, everyone at Crono contributed to the win by commuting by bike. (Not exactly something new for us.) Cronometro beat out the competition in the Mid-Size IBD category by having 100% of our staff commute by bike.

Nich - 2 miles
Jon - 2.5 miles
Craig - 5 miles
Andrew - 7.5 miles
Colin - 46 miles (rode out to meet Scott)
Scott - 48 miles (yes it's a long way from Janesville!)

Nich, Jon, Colin and Craig commute almost everyday. Andrew rides in once or twice a week. I'm the slacker. This was my first commute for the year. It's easy to use 48 miles as an excuse. With a little luck I'll be riding 4 days a week soon. I guess time will tell.

By the way the commuter that did the most miles was a guy that worked for Specialized. He rode 128, One way! I'm guessing that he got a ride home.

Commuter bike/tub of parts project.

Interesting things are going on here at Cronometro. The Tubs of parts are now turning into bikes.

Colin's S-n-S Travelers Check is almost finished. Just a few more things and he can hit the icy trail.

And yes he did "Get a Light", a Shimano dynamo generator light.
It's never needs recharging and it's simple and easy to use.

One in the front and 9 in the back.

A nice looking ride!

This is my project.

I will be trying a unique mix. Sram 9 spd MTB rear derailleur.

And Campy 10spd shifters. I'll let you know how it works.

On one midge bars.

With canti brakes and studded tires.

Now I just need to add a few Crono stickers!

The start of another New Year!

We hope everyone had a good time during the Holiday season. Its hard to believe that another year has passed us by. Time does fly.

With the New Year comes new ideas and new projects. Cloin, Andrew, Nich and myself are all working on commuter bikes for this winter.

Nich has decided to upgrade from 26 to 29.

Steel studs for a little traction on the ice path. I think we are all using these.

Different bars for different riders.

Andrew and I are also doing the 29er thing.
Here is the start of Andrews ride.

Andrew has been talking about a internal hub for a while and has decided to use one on his commuter.

Also lots of room for big tires and fenders.

Its is turning into a fun project, different ways of getting the same end result.

Colin is staying with his cross/commuter style bike.

With some luck I'll get some more pictures up as the project picks up speed.
